Artist Johnson Uwadinma, Nigeria, will take part in a group show at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Lagos. MOCA is celebrating its one year anniversary and is organizing this group exhibition to mark it. The theme, “Of Things Not Seen” engages the artists to re-imagine the past and envision what can be. It will feature 12 Nigerian artists. The exhibition opens 6.22 through 8.30.2019.
HAF: congratulation Johnson. Tell us about your work in this exhibition?
Johnson: I will be showing two installations and two paintings. The installations are from my series – “Amnesia”, made with newspapers which address the place of history in contemporary Africa while the paintings examine the place of hope in such contemporary historical context
